Backpacking the Ansel Adams Wilderness Day 1
A two day trip through the amazing Ansel Adams Wilderness.
Stopped by the rangers station and grabbed permits and 4 hours later, hit the trailhead. Feeling the elevation as the hike starts off slow and uphill into the Sierra's.
Hitting the first climb, we are rewarded with sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The weather changes fast as the clouds would roll in and out.
Granite and pine trees dominate the landscape. Trail is well marked although there are lots of down trees due to storms.
The trail goes over the river several times. Luckily, the river was low and easy to cross.
Around the corner, we hit Lillian Lake. Pristine and clear until I fell into the lake while trying to get water :)
Another shot of Lillian Lake.
Edge of the lake. Great place to do some trout fishing.
Will be back later with Part 2 :)
Wow, those pictures are stunning, especially those at the lake. I hope you didn't break the mirror falling into the lake. ;-)
