Greetings to all the steemians around the world. I have the believe that we are all in good shape, and we are enjoying the engagement challenge. Its a privilege to be relating with you in the amazing platform, and I so much value being part of you. Today I welcome you to season3-week1 challenge, and to my blog where I will be talking about metaverse. Read me below.

When we compare our generation to that of our forefather's, its clear that our own generation is entirely different from their own due to technological advancement that keeps on improving. In the time past, there was nothing like phones or computer, not to even talk of internet. As time goes on, technology brought about computers, which enable us to communicate with other people who are far away from us. Also, with advancement in technology, humans began interacting with one another through chats using some platforms such as 2go, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. Today, we don't only use letters or alphabets to chat, but rather we make video calls with each other. All these are happening virtually with advancement in technology. Technology is now in the process of making it possible for us as humans to be able to live, shop, hold conferences, concerts, and even interact with friends and families all at the comfort of our homes in the physical world, through the use of digital facsimile or avatar of ourselves known as metaverse.

In summary, we can define metaverse as a virtual world which enable people to carry out their activities such as holding conferences, shopping, playing, and interacting with people around the world with the use of avater or facsimile.

what metaverse aimed to achieve.

Presently, for us to carry out some of our activities, we must cover a lot of distance to make ourselves available. But metaverse is here to bring a virtual world which will represent our real world. With metaverse, humans don't need to travel any distance to be able to perform some activities. This technology will enable us to perform some activities that can't be performed in our real world. At the comfort of our homes, we ca make use of avater to make ourselves present in conferences and concerts. We can also go for shopping, and even interact with other people through the use of facsimile or avater.

is metaverse fully here with us yet?

For now, metaverse is only considered as the next evolution of the internet. That's to say, its not yet fully with us due to some technological limitation. Nevertheless, its believed that in few years to come, metaverse will be with us. Its good to know that some aspects of the metaverse already exist. For instance, Virtual reality headsets, Ultra-fast broadband speeds, and persistent always-on online worlds are already in place, although they are not accessible to all.

Blockchain

Blockchain technology is considered the bedrock of the metaverse because, most of the applications of the metaverse runs on blockchains. Blockchain technology helps to provide decentralization and transparency which is very necessary for the functioning of metaverse. As we all know, blockchain technology help developers to integrate functions in the metaverse such as digital ownership verification, digital collectability, governance,
value transfer, , accessibility and interoperability. Also, Blockchain technology helps to:

• create records of transactions
• collect and store information in groups
• store data's in a chronological order
  All these are very important aspect of metaverse.

The 3D reconstruction is one of the most important factor in metaverse because the mateverse has always been about 3D virtual world. For metaverse to be a reality, 3D reconstruction must form part of it because its the 3D reconstruction that will be able to create an environment that will closely represent our real world. With the use of 3D special cameras, realistic images and model buildings will be able to be created because only 3D reconstruction can offer realistic and life like models for users

AR (Augmented reality) & VR (virtual reality)

Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality engines play a vital role towards enabling the metaverse to be an enthralling virtual experience. The AR and VR helps to create an immersive and engaging three dimensional environments for the metaverse.

The argumented reality help users to see 3D simulations, while the virtual reality It helps in expanding the scope of the metaverse by helping users to feel things by creating physical simulations. As such, users can feel, hear, and interact with the virtual metaverse as if they are physically available in it.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence in metaverse is what help to create metaverse avatars. AI engines can easily analyze the 2D and 3D images so as to generate more realistic looking and accurate avatars. Artificial intelligencr also help in adding more character by helping create different facial expressions, clothes, hair style, and other features which help to enhance the appearance of the avatars.

Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of things is also an important factor in metaverse, as it help in collecting data and free to the metaverse so as to adjust to the conditions of the real world. Internet of things also help to connect 3D world to a larger devices from the physical world which enable time stimulation in the metaverse

Another important backbone of the metaverse is the combination of edge computing with 5G networks. users often face challenges with network while engaging in the metaverse due to slow data speed. However, with advancement of 5G being rolled out and made available at affordable price, users can now experience the metaverse from their computers and other devices without facing any issue as regards to slow network speed.

CryptoCurrency

Cryptocurrency is one of the most important aspect of the metaverse. For instance, if you want to purchase a piece of land on decentralized land, you would have to first of convert your real world currency to MANA. Mana is the native token of the game. Looking at that, its clear that cryptocurrency is very important in metarverse

Decentraland: decentraland is a gamification that give players an opportunity to own, operate and trade a land. The land is always minted as an NFT, and as such, any players can buy and sell the land in the marketplace.

One of the main advantages of Decentraland is, it give players a sense of ownership, and a player can design and develop properties on his land, which give room for creativity and differentiation.

Axie Infinity Axie Infinity is one of the gamifications that looks like metaverse. In axie infinity, players breed and battle with these virtual pets called the Axies. If a player wins, he earn tokens from the gameplay that can be exchanged for real money.

Pros of metaverse

1. Connecting the world and negating physical distance:
   The most important aspect of the metaverse is the elimination geographic barriers. in the virtual world, physical location won't matter anymore and you are no longer bound by it. As such, meeting people will be so easy, and at the comfort of your home, you can meet new friends with safety.

2. Improvements to online learning and education:Its not a news that education had a negative impacted during the Covid pandemic. students were not able to continue with studies, as such people began to look for ways I'm which education can continue. With metaverse, online learning will become more effective, as learning will be more accessible more than never before.

3. Positive impact on cryptocurrencies and NFTs: with metaverse, Cryptocurrency and NFTs will have an important role to play in the coming metaverse world through blockchain technology providing security, trust, transparency, and decentralization.

4. New opportunities for financial gain: Whenever new technology come into existence, people always make money from it. And that will not be different in the case of metaverse, as people are already coming up with ways to earn a sustainable living through utilizing all that the metaverse offers.

5. New business opportunities: social media has done a lot in creating many business opportunities to people, and it has also given birth new marketing and advertisements strategies. As such, metaverse will do a greater job towards creating opportunities for people.

The cons of metaverse

1. Negative impact on cultures and societies: if people come more closer together, and combining the variety of cultures around the world into one, the beautiful and amazing cultures that we have around the world will be lost. Coming closer together, will also make people to stop feeling connected to their society, and as such, culture will be misplaced.

2. Privacy and security issues: Security and privacy has always been a serious issue on the internet, with people becoming unaware of how their data are being collected and sold to advertisers, among many other things.

3. Connection and hardware issues: The metaverse requires a fast and reliable internet connection to make the virtual environment as seamless as possible. This must include fiber-based connection and fifth-generation wireless network technology, including the 5G technology, and likely next-generation networks.

4. Virtual bullying: The internet has always been a harsh place, and strangers tend to be cruel and not accepting people’s differences. Illegal behaviors towards others can be found in almost all parts of the internet, whether it be on social media or in the metaverse

I have no doubt over metaverse. I so much believe in the future of metaverse, and I have confidence that in few years to come, metaverse will be with us. Already, some of the technologies needed to make the metaverse project a success are already in play. And some companies, such as Facebook, and Microsoft are already investing in it.
