The PCB dismissed Sarfaraz Ahmed from all three-way leadership, while his replacement was Azhar Ali and T20's leadership.

Pakistan Cricket Board removes captain on poor performance, national team captain Sarfraz Ahmed will no longer be part of the national team for tour of Australia, he has been instructed to restore form by playing dominic cricket.

Azhar Ali has been made captain for the Test series against Australia, the vice-captain will be appointed soon, but his deputy in the Test will likely be wicket keeper Mohammad Rizwan. Azhar Ali has been appointed captain for the Test Championship season 19-2020.
