My Handmade Waxed Canvas Backpack
What happening?
For a while, I was on this kick making everything I could handmade. Feeling so much of everything is made by machines or out of the country. I took it upon myself to make this backpack out of waxed canvas.
Super happy how this turned out for my first sewing project. The sizing from my temple should have been a little bigger. It took around 35 hours to make the wax canvas as an awesome look to it in comparison to the unwaxed canvas.

this really helped for cutting out the fabric in the correct sizes.
Going forward I will make sure to get better and more pictures to document my other handmade projects. For this next project, I plan on making a table with a 4'' slice of a log with some metal legs. This would be something that would go well next to a couch as a side table.
Best,

That's a great looking backpack. The wax canvas looks awesome and is functional. Beautiful design, that would sell here in Vancouver. Look forward to seeing what else you create.
It has really been fun making it I look forward to making more projects!
upvote for your Handmade :)
Thanks @akkadia,
Handmade is a diminishing art with the machine age coming into mainstream manufacturing of everything. Helps us have more appreciation and not take what we do have forgranted.

Nice quote.
Cheers!
I'd love to see another detailed post about different stitches. I've been wanting to learn more about that since I'm a lover of handmade items. Great work! Followed.
Thanks for the Tip @vermillionfox,
The cool part was, I borrowed my sisters $100 sewing machine. This was my first time sewing a real meaningful project. So I did some practice stitches on small pieces of fabric.
So many people told me that I would not be able to use that small of a sewing machine to create a backpack with this thick of waxed canvas. It worked just fine.
Sometimes you just have to go for it and see what happens.
