I see you have a sweater on. Is it a cool spring where you’re at too? We’ve only seen a handful of nice warm days here so far.
That is definitely a sound I dread hearing! My kids are slowly helping me get over the puke-phobia. We had something very similar happen here around 2 years ago, although ours did not last that long. Maybe just a couple days or so. But my eldest had the same issue with throwing up every 1/2-1 hour. I had no clue what to do and I had heard other children ended up in the ER for dehydration, so I was concerned. It probably didn’t help that I was tired and pregnant (but didn’t know it yet). So I took her in. It was an awful experience. The dr. was very nice, but the nurse made me feel so stupid. They did give her zofran, which since it was given in the ER was very spendy! Now I will know better for next time. Let’s hope there’s not a next time!
Ugh, yes! Coworkers going to work coughing, blowing their noses, and just not feeling well at all, it’s ridiculous! But employers don’t want a bunch of their employees gone for a couple weeks. How would anything get done? Oh the society we live in...
Woohoo, 18 weeks!! Does your midwife have a set price she charges? My midwife took a donation. She said people usually gave $2000-5000, or something worth that much, such as a mechanic husband gave her that much worth in car repairs. Pretty neat.
Why do you think they target the measles so hard? Do you think it’s just to push the mmr vaccine? I mean there’s a norovirus vaccine, so it’s a surprise they only report on certain illnesses.
Lauren is often cold, but sometimes really hot. The day the storm came, it was highs of 79, then it dropped way down into the 50's!
We'd love to get our hands on some Zofran, we would use it responsibly. But it's only available by prescription. Of course! We try our best to avoid that spendy ER. We are not fans.
It would be nice if people were more careful about illnesses. But there is great social pressure to not allow illnesses to get in the way of the "system", be it school, work or even play.
Our midwife charges about in the same range. We're more on the low end. She is very kind to offer her services for the lower rate. We pay her cash, which helps. That's a lot of 20's. Much happier to give it to her, than to a giant hospital.
I believe we're at the point where almost all main-stream news is propaganda. The lobbies set the agenda. The agenda right now is vax, vax, vax. Mandatory, 100%, especially the children. Do it for the children. Meanwhile, we the people are reporting the outcomes and it's really bad. But since it conflicts with the propaganda, we have to label it "endangerment" and censor it off social media. It's crumbling around the edges and I think they're becoming fanatical because they see it falling apart. Mandates are always the last step before it's pushed back into the shadows.

Yes, big improvement in sound quality once we figured it out.
We are using Christian Healthcare Ministries and we are very happy with this alternative to insurance. It's 135/month, + we donate an extra 25/month. We're responsible for the first $5K per incident, $125K cap per incident. $1M lifetime cap. There's also a voluntary donation pool to help cover expenses above this.

A family of 6 (soon to be seven) covered at that rate is unheard of. If we do need to use it, there's more work involved in negotiating bills and explaining that we don't have health insurance (gasp!), but I think we can handle that. If you sign up let them know Benjamin Turner sent you. :-)
I like the idea of a sharing program and know many people who use one....not the one you are using.
They use one called Samaritan Ministries, which is actually based out of the city I grew up in. In fact some of the people I fellowship with work there as well!
I'm glad the insurance companies have some competition!
