Sukkot 2018 Review: Rainy Sabbath
We spent our first night on the Homestead
Friday night was very, very rainy. You know the sound of hard rain on a thin tent is noisy. The seems were leaking and little puddles of water were gathering on the floor - but we stayed mostly dry. We made it through the night and had a special treat when we wok up and left the tent: a cool misty morning! Perfect for coffee and breakfast!
The teens were playing some sort of game today.

We put our tarp up on the side of the canopy to block the wind and rain.
Girls had fun exploring the mountain area. Daddy stayed close by.
Getting our bearings on our new temporary home for a week.
It seemed to get foggier and rainier as the day when on. Very refreshing Sabbath! Great opportunity to sit down and chat with people.
Our neighbors brought over some non-spicy jalapenos, perfect to go with our premade enchiladas. We put them straight on the grill and had them fire-seared! Delicious!
We brought sour cream, a perfect addition to our meal.
It was a wonderful start to a very special week on the homestead.

ha! very good sir ironshield, I've heard how long that is but I forgot so how long is that for? lol.
It's day one of our stay, but Monday was the first of seven days of the festival, then the eighth great day (the following Monday)

Looks like you all had a good time. I love the photo of your daughter cooking the marshmallow, she looks so focused like all of her attention is on that marshmallow, cracks-me-up ;)
She takes her marshmallow roasting very seriously.
I was thrilled to discover the kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the remaining coals of our charcoal cooking fire. We got double-duty out of the fire and did not have to start a smoky wood fire in front of our tent. Everyone had a lot fewer sore throats this year!
Well the weather could have been better but looks like you all made the best of it!
Are you going to be posting activities from some of the other days too?
Lots more posts, day by day. The weather improved greatly as the week progressed.

Woah!! That is far. Worth it I'm sure. I wrote a post yesterday about my most amazing Sukkot ever. A bit further than 900 miles away - Israel!
Tgat would be so great! Next year in... Jerusalem! Maybe someday.

I love those foggy pictures. Are you on a new homestead? What brand of tent are you using? Be well.
It's an Ozark trail 8 person tent. We're a family of 6, but we fill this tent up easily.
