My Attempt to Repair the Dryer - Phase One
The Belt on the dryer broke Friday night, time to do some repairs!
Coming back from our week long adventure, we had lots of cloths to wash. While the first load of wash was drying, the belt snapped on our dryer. So begins the quest to replace the belt and get the dryer drying again!
The belt is shredded, time to find and install a new one.
I found a new belt on Amazon for $6.00, it's one of those "add-on" items, so I have to purchase an extra $20 of stuff to get it. But free 2nd day shipping and no installation charge... good deal!
Once the part arrives, I'll see if I can get it installed. The challenges in life!

Bummer Ben! My washing machine stopped working a few days before Sukkot and I was able to get a part locally at a appliance maintenance shop. Normally I go to places like appliancepartspros.com, a very helpful site by the way! It was up and running right before the Sabbath started so it was ready to go when I got back! Go luck on your repairs!

Those guys as well as repairclinic.com normally have videos on how to fix most appliances. I'm sure you'll be able to find a video on how to replace a dryer belt! I know I have utilized their videos. Over the last few years I was able to fix my refrigerator, dryer and washing machine!
Good luck for the repair when the parts arrive! I don't know if that is the right tool for the job, but I'm sure you know what you are doing!

I sure hope you can fix it on your own. That will definitely save you some monies!! I always say every family needs at least one person in those important fields: technician, mechanic, plumber and an electrician!
