Most valuable coins in the world

If you get a weird coin next time in your change it just might be worth something. Below are some of the most valuable coins in the world with a brief description of why they are valuable and how much better of you'd be if you stumbled upon one.

Lets start with a countdown:

7 - 1913 Liberty head nickel

This coin was pressed without approval by the mint and 5 went into circulation (so a low chance of you finding it but if you do a cool ~USD$3.7 million would be yours. The one that was found and sold for this money wasnt even in mint condition.

6 - 1804 Silver Dollar

These were minted as presents for Asian rulers and minted about 30 years later than date indicates by mistake. Only 15 of them around. 2 that sold at auctions in recent history sold for ~USD $4 million

5 - C$1m coin (dont be on the lookout for this one in your change but still rare and very valuable)

its a massive 100kg gold coin which is 99.99% pure. Very rare cause they minted one of them only. Put that in your wallet! ~USD $4 milion

4 - 1343 Edward the 3rd florin

Worth a cool USD $6.8 million you would want to know why. Simply put after all these years only 3 out there that people found. I'm sure there must be more; check your wallet.

3 - 1787 Brasher Doubloonbrasher.jpg

Brasher was a talented goldsmith that lived in New York and asked the state mint to mint some copper coins for them. When state mint refused his offer he minted them anyway and also made a few gold doubloons. One of these was bought by a Wall street firm for USD $7.4 million.

2 - Double eagle (2 years different designs)

Above you see 2 different coins a 1907 and 1933 double eagle. Both sold for same price of USD $ 7.6 million. The 1907 is rare because its the only year they didnt strike "In God We Trust" it went through production but government dint like it and stopped minting coins without the term and hence are rare. The 1933 double eagle was minted but this is also the year that Roosevelt confiscated Gold so even though the coins were minted they were not released to public. 20 got released (somehow) therefore their rarity.

Drumroll.... and no.1 spot goes to:

1 - 1794 flowing hair silver/copper dollar

Reason for rarity and a price of USD $ 10million is that it is the first dollar minted by US federal government in 1794.

Check your change, especially grandmas change. I know that most of these happen to be American or Brittish and you might not live in these countries, but thats what got paid by people in the auction houses.
