Hilton Magic boosts Cyclones past 17th ranked Sooners

in #sports6 years ago

The Cyclones were led to victory today by freshmen Lindell Wigginton who scored 26 points. Cam Lard and Donovan Jackson each added 19 points in this great effort which lead to the 88-80 Cyclone win.
This win was huge for Iowa State and they needed Hilton Magic to pull it off. They led by as many as 17 points before an eight minute scoring drought from the floor allowed the visiting Sooners to tie the game. But the Cyclones were able to shake off the drought and finish the game strong and get the win.
The Cyclones also beat 8th ranked Texas Tech on January 20th and beat 15th ranked West Virginia on the 31st. The Cyclones are 3-0 at home against a ranked Big 12 opponent this season. Certainly this is a testament to Hilton Magic.
This streak will be put to the test Tuesday when the 10th ranked Kansas Jayhawks come to Ames. The Cyclones look to avenge their 83-78 loss at Kansas earlier this season. As they have proven throughout the years, Iowa State can do anything with a little Hilton Magic.
