Australian Blockchain Startup Commences Pilot Trial For Solar Power Trading On Its Platform
An Australian blockchain startup- Power Ledger- which focusses on green energy has just launched a trial to enable about 40 households in Australia’s coastal city of Fremantle to engage in solar power trading via its platform, CCN reported.
According to CCN, the households will determine the price for the sale and purchase of solar power before conducting the transactions on Power Ledger's blockchain-based platform.
The Minister for Finance, Energy and Aboriginal Affairs in the government of Western Australia, Ben Wyatt, opined in a statement:
"The trial represents an innovative solution to virtual energy trading that may have implications for energy utilities working to balance energy supply and demand all over the world."
