Abu Dhabi National Oil Company And IBM Collaborate To Conduct Trial For Blockchain Platform Tracking Transactions For Oil Products
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and IBM will cooperate to conduct the pilot trial of a blockchain-based platform to record transactions for the former's products across the value chain- from the oil fields to the end customers, CCN reported.
According to CCN, the platform will greatly enhance efficiency and increase transparency by encompassing ADNOC's entire supply chain.
Zahid Habib, IBM’s vice president of chemicals and petroleum solutions articulated his highly positive opinion of the platform by saying:
"With this pilot, ADNOC takes a massive leap forward in asset provenance and asset financials, which, in its simplest terms, enables the ability to track irrefutably, every molecule of oil, and its value, from well to customer."
