Congrats man! 60 is a major milestone. It starts to slow down quite a bit in the 60s. Looks like we joined around the same time, though I haven't taken any time off with traveling :) You've been really hittin it though man wouldn't be surprised if you pass me up in no time! ;)
Interesting you mentioned meditation (& alcohol lol) because I find when I go fully sober I gravitate to longer meditation sessions to go deeper into myself and see what I've been ignoring (that usually gets covered up by drinking.) I made the decision to fully quit drinking around a month ago because I find it difficult to moderate.

Yeah I've quit drinking a lot in the past 3 years for months at a time. I enjoy my sober runs. I can honestly say now that I'd be happy never having alcohol again, which I think is why I find it much easier to control now.
If you don't eliminate the root cause for the drinking than moderation is difficult. The root cause is implanted in your subconscious mind so you're probably not aware of it.
Nice, yeah. I've done a lot of shadow work in the past few years so I know a lot of tangible reasons that cause me to go into excess. As you mentioned, there is always a deeper and deeper root to uncover in the subconscious. It ends up being all or nothing for me because one of the main reasons I've always liked substances is for psychic escapism. I think I could control it and drink just a little, but I don't like the feeling of slight intoxication lol. I suppose I am a bit of an extremist by nature always seeking towards greater balance.
I know exactly what you're going through. I used to drink to escape reality also. When u like the reality you're in then there's no reason to escape it. It's so much more enjoyable when it's not needed.

Good to hear about your lifestyle change. Any kind of dependence on alcohol is hard thing to shake. I would be interested to hear what kind of mediation and mindfulness techniques you have used to clear your mind.
I look forward to a post next week when you have reached 70+, hahaha. I can only imagine those levels are a bit more of a natural and slow progression (grind).
Congratulations @inventor16. I have been on this platform for about 3 weeks now and my reputation is 42+. As far as what I understood is Reputation score is the reflection of what we do here on the Steemit and other Steemit networking sites. My Reputation score went up to 40 quickly but took almost a week to get to 42. I believe that relationship we build among the fellow Steemians plays a huge role. I am loving this platform since most of the Steemains are very supportive, encouraging and always inventing new things. It's been three weeks, but I love Steemit more than any other social media sites. I am not getting those crappy adds on my wall, no useless posts and not so much scams like on facebook. Scammers are being flagged and fellow Steemains are always active to spread the message. There's even a bot that sends messages on the wallet to warn the Steemians if that user receives the message from scammers. Steemians like you with higher reputation can only help minnows like us to get our reputation up if I understood correctly. Your support is appreciated in advance. Congrats!! I am a way behind you, and have noticed it getting slower already, so I imagine it will only be harder again in the 60sl!
But in a year's time when the rest of the world is joining STEEMIT we'll be way ahead of the curve!!
