Did some exchanges usurp the Steem blockchain? History was made today.

The biggest story to come out of the battle between Justin Sun and the Steem Witnesses, is the crypto exchanges using Steem holdings to influence the vote of governance on the Steem blockchain. This is a real shocker not only to Steem, but to every single cryptocurrency out there. This has set a major precedent that can't not ever be reversed.

Can you imagine the NYSE (traditional stock exchange) using shares it holds for trading purposes to boot out a board of governors of a company it didn't like? This to the best of my knowledge would never happen, if it did, it would have major ramifications. I think that what just happened with Steem and several exchanges will incur some serious repercussions.

What are your thoughts on this? Please share.

Cheers,
