Gosses Bluff
I have started again to look back though the four months of photos we have from our Australian outback 4WD road trip last year. Seems a bit of an overwhelming task at the moment. You do however get quite a different perspective editing photos after some time has passed; particularly as it's such a different world to the watery one we are in now. This is a drone shot of us leaving Gosses Bluff which is known as Tnorala to the Western Arrente people of the surrounding region.
The crater was formed by the impact of an asteroid or comet ~140 million years ago near the Jurassic/Cretaceous time boundary. The 5 km (3.1 mile) diameter, 180 m (590 ft) mountains in the background is a eroded relic of the crater's central uplift. The original crater rim is now mostly eroded away and was thought to have been about 22 km (14 mi) in diameter. It is located close to the geographical center of Australia west of Alice Springs and Northeast of Uluru (or Ayers Rock).
A wider angle of the same shot for those of you with large screens.
If you would like to learn a little bit more about my background in photography you can read the interview @photofeed did with me here.

I'm around, mostly elsewhere, but here too...Almost three years of work...Seemed a shame to just leave and lose the opportunity to gather some additional benefit where I can. didn't make a lot of sense...Elsewhere is what's up though.
Yes this place will be a ghost town soon; I am just here for the residual autovotes lol
Yep, me too. Value will be smashed eventually.
or sun could just pump it to save face and brand it a success.
