This. @drugwars, please don't fail to provide a heads up prior to enabling battles. Some minimal lead time so that folks can prepare to defend their stash would avoid a great deal of foreseeable rage quits if you don't forewarn folks.
Units are also there to defend your empire, so basically it's interesting to prepare units now so that once Battles are available again, you won't be off guard.
