Why Are We Difficult Remembering Dreams?

Dreams are subconscious experiences that involve sight, hearing, thoughts, feelings, or other senses in sleep. Wikipedia

The incident in dreaming usually can not Unikers control. But there are also lho dreams that you can control, which is usually called Lucid Dreaming. Under these conditions, you realize that you are indeed dreaming, able to change the environment, and can control some aspects of the dream.

Lucid Dreaming experience can you feel strongly in the movie Inception 2010

Why can we dream?

In 1899, Sigmund Freud declared that dreaming is the hidden hope that is within us. So sometimes we dream of meeting someone we really care about, get the dream house we want, and our emotions are buried with others. In short, the dream is our unfulfilled hope. #Oouhh

Around the 1950s, as technology began to grow, scientists discovered the fact that when we sleep our brains will assemble the memory that exists in our lives, especially the events that just happen to be composed into new memories in the brain.

So the dream itself happens because there is a circuit that is being prepared earlier but "leaked" alias not participate composed. It all happens naturally without our will. As a result, we often dream of things that do not make sense because there is some memory mixed into one part. nettik

After waking up, why can we forget the dream?

Fyi Unikers, our brains have two types of memory. Namely long-term memory and short-term memory. Now that often remember it is only short-term memory. So when we wake up, we can still remember a bit of our dreams but more forgotten parts.

Another possibility could be due to the REM sleep phase (Rapid Eye Movement) in which the body turns off the system in the brain responsible for creating memory. So we only remember a handful of dreams that occur in the moment to wake up, when certain brain systems have been reactivated.

There is also the opinion that the brain actually does not forget the dream, but just can not access the memory of it. Dreams may be stored in the memory and wait for the time to be remembered. This idea can explain why we can suddenly remember a dream in the future due to an event that triggers the memory.

Maybe we are designed to forget dreams. Because if we can remember it, we will have difficulty distinguishing between the real world and the imaginary world.

To better understand more, let's watch the following video:

Want to remember your dreams? Here's how.

1. Before Sleeping

  • Plan that you can sleep soundly. Dreams arise when the body is in a sleep phase known as REM, which stands for Rapid Eye Movement (Fast Eye Movement).
  • Place a notebook and pen or pencil in a place that is easily accessible from the bed.
  • Place the alarm near the bed.
  • Do not eat, drink alcohol, or take medication before bed.
  • Calm the mind and body before bed.
  • Think of major problems or emotional issues before going to sleep.

2. Morning After Waking Up

  • Concentrate on remembering it as soon as you wake up.
    Write it in a notebook.
  • Increase the number of dreams you can remember by waking up frequently at night.

3. For All Next Day

  • Bring a notebook or voice recorder throughout the day.
  • Go back to bed and lie down.
  • Do it again the next night.
  • Notice the pattern of his dreams.
