Is the grass really greener?

IS THE GRASS REALLY GREENER?

We all know the saying, "The grass is greener on the other side." BUT IS IT?? I once heard someone say, "the grass is greener where you water it." That simple sentence rang as true then, as is does now. If we choose to water what we have today it can only grow better, stronger and dreamier.

We live in a world of so much comparison! "They're better looking, they have more money, I wish I had that outfit, they're kids look way more well behaved than mine, their home looks straight out of a magazine, they're always happy, they woke up like that?!"...the list goes on and on. For some reason, so many of us live with this idea that "if only" we had what they had we would somehow be happier. Then sometimes we actually obtain "what they have" but walk away dissatisfied. Living a life of comparison is actually a dangerous and endless trap. It's a downward spiral. It wastes so much time, effort and energy and we are all guilty of doing it.

Growing up my big sister ran track and was super fast! I attempted joining the track team one season and didn't really cut it. I ran one race and was so distracted by the runners who were racing in the lanes next to mine that I got disqualified! That was the last race I ran haha. How often is this the same way we live our lives? We become so distracted by looking at everyone else's lives that we can actually miss out on what we have today, right in front of us!

I'm making a conscious choice that I'm going to water the grass I have today! If we can live today well and focus on the race we are running the sky's the limit! MY GRASS IS GREENER.
