Rest and Bestie

Haven’t you felt like when you want rest you have to work nonstop and when you are driven to work, you are forced to rest? For me, this has happened to me so many times. There were days that I felt like I badly need a rest but I still had to work continuously, and there were days I was planning to cover a heavy workload, but I get forced to rest after something happened. It was like that for me in the first two weeks of December.

I was planning to dedicate my days to my dissertation and prepare for my classes at the college, so I can balance my work and uni when the final semester started. However, I had to undergo a minor surgery and was advised to rest. I could not work much anyway since I couldn’t use my right hand much. Everyone said that think of it as a good rest because we rarely get time to relax nowadays. However, I could not properly relax in that time since the workload was always on my mind.

Yet, there was a day when I could have fun and it was when my bestie visited me; the sick. We had a lot to gossip since we met after months. However, I was the one dying to tell everything first, so I did most of the talking, and she listened to me as always. The day went so fast that day and I still had lot to tell. We did our usual things. Gossiped for hours and did a little photoshoot. (We had to cut the photoshoot short today because I had to act the role of the “patient”) And you know what, I received my birthday gift. Even though we do not meet each other often, we never forget to celebrate each other’s birthdays and share gifts. She gave me something that I really like a lot which are earrings. I was determined to wear all of them as soon as I started going to work and I did it.

This was the best day I had during my resting period because spending time with loved ones is always rewarding.
