Now and Then

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen is one of my all-time fav novels that I have read so far. I had to refer to the novel recently for one of my university presentations and I found something I have written after reading the novel. It was a quick sketch of a poem on its protagonist. When I was looking at it now, after two to three years, the writing felt rather rough for me. So instead of working for my presentation, what I did was trying to write something out what I have written there at first place.

“She was an underline
-all the time
Being unnoticed
-most of the time
She observed others
-every single time

Her presence was felt
-all of a sudden!

But knowing the reality
She didn’t let herself be deceived….
She knew others are being deceived!
She saves herself from the misery
And brings the reader back to reality.”

The above is what I wrote some few years back and the following is my recent attempt over it.

“Throughout of her life,
She was an underline,
Being unnoticed, in rife,
All the freaking time.

With the change of tide
Her presence was stride.
It may be her fate,
Or just some playful bait:
It was in her hand,
To decide the unresolved!

Being one more soul,
Wander in the world foul-
Of seen and unseen:
She saw the unseen
Of what was seen.

Ones with the eyes closed,
Branded her; The Deceived.
Her with eyes, opened wide,
Knew it was a matter of time
To bring the truth to light lime.”

So this was it. When typing this now, I feel like I have made the new one more ambiguous, but I still like it in that day. But I’m pretty sure that I will not be satisfied with this, if I read this again after couple of months.
