Malagiya Eththo

I only read two books that are written in Sinhalese last year except for the three books which were prescribed for a module. One is Bikkhu Parichchedaya which was recommended by big sis and the other is Malagiyo Eththo. The latter raised my curiousity after reading a review written by @prasadi akka and she recommended me to read it suggesting that I would love it. So I got the book 1 of it and yeah I loved it as she told.

I asked about the book from my big bro because he reads lots of Sinhala book and he let me borrow his book. But I realized that the same book has been in mum’s book rack without me noticing it 😅 So anyway I got two copies from the same book and started reading it. It was actually a fast reading because the book was very much interesting. I started the book at night and I complete reading the next day morning while I was travelling home because I was impatient to read it in the morning.

I have read many books in which the characters are in love with suffering. I think those readings have influenced my mind a lot that I saw a connection of Devondara Sung with those characters. I have read Viragaya and its English translation early in the year. And then I read Gadfly and its Sinhala translation. I always saw a connection between Aravinda in Viragaya and Arthur in Gadfly. Both of them seem to be attached the bitterness of life than its sweetness. I could not help but recalling Arthur’s and Aravinda’s character when I was reading “Malagiya Eththo”. I always those two to be a very nice matching pair. I think I found a trio now. Aravinda, Arthur and Devondara Sung. And that the idea that overpowered my way of reading it.

I should thank Prasadi akka for this recommendation because I absolutely enjoyed it. gonna read the second book of it and get back to you soon…

Thanks for reading!

Have a nice day!

Ohh! Um so happy that you have read it!😍 N love to see that you've enjoyed a lot.❤

Aravinda, Arthur and Devondara Sung.

I don't know Arthur. But know Aravinda. It's right, those characteristics are same.

Hope to read that other book Gadfly.

It's right, those characteristics are same.

I recently talked about this book with a lecturer. He told that many critics comment on that similarity. so we two are not the only people who think so 😅

You will get so annoyed at Arthur when you read it
