Got hurt by love

I’m someone who would say that “I know this dog” more often that “I know this person” and I would avoid eye contact with the people I meet on the road but smiles at the dogs that pass by. This is about one such dog that “I know”.

Such dog whom I know

He is also another stray dog that I’m friend with. He frequents to my workplace and he is the new friend I made ever since I started working. One day, he walked playfully beside me and bit my ankle . When I said, “no no, you can’t do that”, he selected the other ankle. I stopped him doing that and went back with my work. I didn’t care about it at all but I thought it’s safer to wash my leg just in case. My leg stinged when water touched my ankle, and then only I realized that my leg was scratched. Even then I didn’t panic I washed it with soap and continued my work.

I finished my work fast and I had no more tasks for the day to complete. Since I was feeling bored, I thought of checking the scratch. It was a big scratch than I thought it to be, so I sent a pic to my sis and my uni bestie. Both of them panicked and asked me to go to the hospital and get it checked because it’s a stray dog. My uni bestie’s mum is a doctor and she also told me to go to a government hospital directly. My sis had told mum too, and she was calling over n over again asking me to go to hospital. Just to avoid my mum getting high blood pressure, I thought of going to the Kiribathgoda base hospital cz it’s very closer to my uni.

I put an uber and went there. I didn’t ask anyone to accompany me even since I didn’t care much about this whole incident. It was around 5p.m. and OPD was closed, and I was taken into the Emergency Unit. The doctor there stressed me to get vaccinated and asked me to come to the same unit the next day morning. By this time, I had started to understand the gravity of the situation, so I agreed.

I’ll come back again with what happened the hospital.
