Deja-vu to parenting

When we were doing schooling, it’s a very common thing for parents to drop us to school and classes and pick us up after. My mum or dad always used to be there to pick me when I was done with my classes. So I’m used to having them waiting for me. but it very rarely we got to wait for someone until he/ she is done with his/ her task right? So waiting for others is not something I got to experience very commonly.

I barged into my sis’ boarding as usually to spend two days with her.. Quite typical of me. However, I had totally forgotten that she gotta wedding to attend that day. She would be out the whole day and it was boring for me to stay alone in her boarding. she happily suggested to go out with her and I can hang out somewhere after dropping her to the venue. I knew that she was very happy with this arrangement because having someone to drop and pick her up match her introverted self. Since I didn’t have any other suggestion, I agreed to it because at least I was going out with my ATM 😂

She wore a saree and I suggested her to wear some gajra which we could bought easily on our way. Buying was easy but wearing it was the issue because I had to pin it to her when we were in the tuk. However, I was able to do that after some struggle. She was not satisfied when we got down in front of Kingsbury. She wanted me to stay until her friends joined her. And then, she got another funny idea which is for me to go for lunch buffet in Kingsbury and stay there until she was done with her function. But I made it clear that this is all I was gonna satisfy her fancies and left her after her friends came.

I had good 5hours to kill, so I started with grabbing something to eat from café 64. I usually eat fast. But this time I ate slowly pretending I was enjoying the view since I got more time. When I felt like, I stayed enough time for what I bought to eat and drink, I started to walk to OGF. I checked the available movies at that time and was happy to see that there was a showtime for The Flash that worked well with me. So I went ahead with that.

Movie helped a lot with passing time because I would be bored from waiting otherwise. I was feeling hungry because it was passed lunch time then, so my next stopped was KFC. I bought one burgher to eat and one to go, just in case I got hungry again. Time perfectly synced because it was time to pick my sis when I was done with eating.

On the way to pick her, I was wondering isn’t this what my parents did for years except that they got to watch movies or eat in restaurants in every time they waited for us.
