Continuing my self-made Awurudu Tradition
I have been sharing here for quite some time now how I make my own new year dress to wear for new year rituals. However, I made few changes to this year. Since I'm learning to sew by attending a class now, I wanted to try sometimes new.

I changed from my usual cheeththa dress to a kurtha, yet I sticked into the new year colour which is white. The next addition is I thought of sewing two kurtha's for my mum and sis. All this time I could only sew for myself, but now, I can sew for anyone thanks to my learnings.
First, I planned the designs for all three of our kurtha's and cut the blocks. What takes the majority of my time is to make the blocks and cut the cloth since I'm still learning. Once it is done, sewing will only take like 30mins-60mins.
As usual, I started the sewing process the day before new year and finished it rightly before the auspicious time. I could sit proudly on the new year table this time since all were earing what I sewed for them. But I kinda miss my usual cheeththa dress because that's what I used to sew for new year for ages now.
Thanks for reading!
Have a nice day!
