Colours Night 20/21

The perfect way to end the academic year is with the colours night. Our colours night was planned to be held two months earlier but it got postponed due to the overlap with exam time table. So we had our last year’s colours night as the first thing in the new academic year.

We were asked to come at 4 p.m., but I knew 4 meant 5. So I went to uni around 4.45p.m. which gave me some time to pose for two pictures before we were rushed into the auditorium since the chief guest has arrived. Function started exactly at 5p.m. as they planned. It was nicely decorated and I liked the atmosphere inside. Tables were arranged for particular sports and our table was in the middle but towards the back of the hall.

No speeches. Just a welcome dance. And straightly started with the business. Colours were awarded in alphabetical order, so we had to wait for a long time since Track and Field comes towards the end. However, there were dances and songs in the intervals and all the items matched the hyped up vibe of the audience. The award ceremony took four hours and we were so hungry by the time of dinner.

Everyone was happy after being awarded with colours and enjoying their dinner, so the stage was opened for celebration. Many started to dance even before the DJ floor was not properly opened and the rest joined them. I was one among the few people who sat in the table to enjoy how other dance. I reluctantly left the place around 10.30 to go to boarding because it is very hard to find tuks after 9p.m. and there will be lesser and lesser as the night grew.

With this, I was done with the last obligation of my captaincy as it’s time for the new faces for the new academic year.
