Appeasing Mimi

These days our youngest dogdy; Mimi is not getting her usual attention because of an unfortunate incident happen to our Jimmy. One day, we all woke up around 3am with a loud cry of Jimmy. Turned out, he was hit on his head by someone whom (even though we don’t know the culprit) I think to be a man only by birth not by his action. His vision of one eye is badly affected by the hit and it was hard to move is neck. Thankfully, he is recovering well now but his vision of the right eye is still a doubt. We were all attending Jimmy and treating him these days, because of that. However our queen of jealousy does not like the attention to flee away from her, so she’s doing all the dramas to demand our attention. So I thought of doing something for her in my free time.

I thought of crocheting a bandana for her. I watched few youtube videos for references but ended up making my own pattern because of the difference of the materials I got. I thought of making a granny square with a flower and then develop it to a bandana. . Crocheting a bandana doesn’t need much of wool, so I used some leftover wool at home.

I initially thought of doing a one layer of petals, but one layer seems lil small. So I ended up doing two layers of petals.

Then I started on making a granny square around it. I always wonder why this is called a granny square. Does it look old?

The next step was the confusing one, since the videos I referred are not about bandanas made out of a granny square. So I thought a bit and made my own pattern to get the shape of the bandana.

All done.

It was time to present my craft to Mimi. She rejected the gift first, but she was very active after I tied it around her neck. It was hard to make any pictures because she was running here and there and jumping over me. I barely managed to take one or two pictures that were not blurred.

She even went to my grandparents’ place and walked proudly in the living room until they noticed her new bandana.

Mission of appeasing Mimi is completed successfully!
