Daily Ups and Downs 🌀 Battery-Down!
Of course not everything goes as perfectly, or is as perfect as these little life givers.
An example; I had a brief panic today after shorting out this pallet truck battery, sending sparks and smoke everywhere.
The battery was pretty discharged so there was little hydrogen gas, and it didn't quite catch fire or explode B"H. But the short circuit melted the connectors and cables, and a couple of the cell jar covers. Left the whole thing a mess!
And wasted all this hardware...
Though after some effort, it cleaned up a bit, but it'll never be as it was back on that day... before...
Some new connectors and cables, and I guess it would be smart to do some testing, but I think it'll again join in the work...

BH” you were safe. Wonder what other interesting specialities you have got working with batteries. Pretty cool bud shabbat shalom!
B"H indeed! Thanks bro, and shavuah tov now :)
As for specialties, as long a I keep preventing explosions, I'm happy^~
haha! It's definitely a field that is interesting.
YIKES! Good thing it didnt totally explode. I worked in the battery room at Sears. I will never forget stacking the old batteries waiting to be picked up. We had a grate over a few inches of water. Fun times!
I'm glad too, lol! The day would have been very different if I had to deal with an explosion!
You stacked old lift truck batteries for scrap? The water pit was really for acid runoff?
Well the battery department at Sears dealt mainly with car batteries. DieHard was the Sears brand and is popular here. So they would trade in their cores. We also checked batteries because they had a warranty period that was prorated off a new one.
Oh I see. I wouldn't have minded getting a hold of those cores too. Good bucks if you can get a decent quantity and timing of the market. I wonder if they still take them back like that.
