Strength and Conditioning – Myths

Hello all!

I am passionate about resistance,strength and conditioning training and will talk you through different types and how they benefit your body & health over the next few months.

Firstly lets thrash out a couple of myths and dump them from the start, I say strength and conditioning and most have initially developed an image of an Olympic weight lifter or stereotypical Russian bodybuilder, these are yes I suppose examples of people who may train for strength but there is so much more to explore under this title.

In fact in order to build or improve muscular strength and condition you need not even lift a weight!!!!

                         

With so many different types of resistance equipment and training now readily available yes you will achieve results using TRX, Dyno Bands, Free weights like barbells and dumbbells and resistance machines and that’s merely the tip of the iceberg. Let’s not forget though our good old reliable floor exercises! Using your body weight alone and specific exercises and techniques targeting different muscle groups you can achieve the benefits of a full body muscular strength and conditioning session.

Sport specific? Improvement and increase in your muscular strength and condition is a way of increasing your ability to perform on every level for example strong core strength will lend itself to any sport thereafter muscle groups can be isolated and targeted depending on your exact sport.

                          

This is a training format that everyone from athlete to ex-couch potato should be including in their weekly regime. You will find a great change to your life, improvement to elasticity and increase in muscle tone, may change your overall shape, appear slimmer, improve your technique and strength for further training, improve your flexibility and range of motion with huge benefits to overall health and standard of life on a long term basis.

Wow, amazing transformation! Found your article as I was trying to see if there were any other fitness related blogs on steemit than the one I wrote ha. Love the pictures and information. I agree people shouldn't limit themselves from exercising only if they have the equipment. Sometimes your own body is your gym, your equipment.
