Voting Bots – a full overview (part II)steemCreated with Sketch.

Below is a list of all the voting bots I’ve been able to find so far. I’m sure there are others and even more to come in the future.

I’ve used DR. OTTO ANALYZER (https://rawgit.com/msg768/mysteemit/master/bidder.html) to check voting power and total amount of bids, when it was possible and made sense.

@randowhale

randowhale.PNG
Probably the most renown voting bot on Steemit. Only works when it’s awake. You can download a Chrome browser extension to be informed, when it wakes up.
Votes with 1-4% VP, which normally pays roughly $0.45-1.8. Occasionally votes with 25% or 50% VP, which obviously pays a lot more. I believe there’s about 1% chance of that happening, so don’t count on it. It’s financially great, - especially if you use it a lot.

PLEASE NOTE: As of recently, @randowhale only votes for posts, not comments.

Another great aspect of @randowhale is the voting trail that follows the primary vote. These votes are financially insignificant, but they are still votes, and may be helpful for post exposure.

@booster

boosterlogo.PNG
Also a very popular and widely know bot with a high (delegated) VP, currently 662,355. Unlike @randowhale, you can send any amount you wish to @booster. Every 2.4 hours the votes are distributed, weighted after how much money each person sent. If everyone sent 1 USB, everyone receives 1% votes.

This is all fine and dandy, but people tend to send more USB to the bot, than it’s total VP is worth, which makes the bot financially redundant. However, if you manage to use the bot in a low traffic period (whenever that is), you can actually make a decent amount of money from it. A few weeks ago I sent it 10 USB, and received a vote worth roughly 15 USB. Not too shabby.

@BellyRub

bellyrub.PNG
Works exactly like @booster. Only difference is a smaller VP – approximately 1/5 of @booster, which is still quite decent. It is also not quite as well known, so the odds are generally better of turning a profit, if that’s what you’re looking for.

PLEASE NOTE: @bellyrub seems to be malfunctioning and support doesn't respond. Don't waste your money on it!

@minnowbooster

minnowbooster.PNG
Works basically the same way as @booster and @bellyrub, with a few exceptions, though. First of all, you can only send a maximum of 5 USB each week. Also, you need to check it’s VP here:
minnowbooster SS.PNG
If VP is 33% you’ll it’ll match your bid of 1 SBD (if that’s what you sent).
If VP is 66% you’ll get 2 USB back, etc.
So don’t use it, if VP is below 33%, or you’ll loose money.
All in all – a great tool.

NEW RULES. READ THEM HERE: https://steemit.com/@minnowbooster

@drotto

This bot can be seen as a mini version of @booster.
Mini, because of it’s modest VP, because you can send as little as 0.001 SBD, and because of voting cycles beginning every 270 seconds.
Currently, 100% upvote value = $1.22

otto drotto.PNG

Great for simply getting some post votes. Works fast.

@discordia

Works exactly like @booster, but with a much smaller VP. Minimum bid is 0.1 USB.
100% upvote value = $1.99

@minnowhelper

Works exactly like @booster, but with a much smaller VP.
100% upvote value = $5.5

@buildawhale

Works exactly like @booster, but with a much smaller VP.
Minimum bid is 0.1 USB. Provides occasional random bonus upvotes.
100% upvote value = $5.03

@lovejuice

Works exactly like @booster, but with a much smaller VP.
No minimum bid.
100% upvote value = $1.69

@animus

Always costs 0.001 USB. The 100% upvote value = $0.07, so it’s really not something to use for profits, but a nice, cheap way of getting an extra vote and comment on your post.

@treeplanter

No financial benefit (at least not at the moment).
You can send 0.1 – 0.5 SBD to receive an upvote on the link you include in the memo. You can also send 1 SBD to help planting trees (apparently).

@originalworks

This voting bot is not activated by sending USB, but simply by writing “@originalworks” in a comment to the post you want a vote for. Voilà.

I hope this was helpful.

By all means, let me know if you know of other vote bots, that should be included on this list.

Thanks for reading!

Thoughts and comments are always welcome.

Great collection! Very helpful!
Thanks for sharing it!

You are welcome! I'll be using it myself.

thank!

You are welcome!

Excellent list ... I have used a couple of them with mixed results - I guess it depends if the goal is for ROI or exposure for your posts... Thanks for the info... :)

Very true. I think it's true, what most people say - don't be on Steemit for the money. But for some initial traction, it does seem to work. Right now I'm planning a post on 'how to cut back on bots'. We'll see how that goes...

I have made several comments saying just that - eliminating and/or limiting the use of bots would have a dramatic affect. Additionally there should be much more emphasis placed on curating posts - and much more reward should be given for "curation". The current system that favors "whales" has negative consequences. There could be a perfectly written article, blog post, story, etc. etc. - we would never know it because without a system in place to bring the good stuff to the forefront, you can literally watch a post sink into oblivion. Hoping a post receives enough upvotes to move it into the trending section is nothing more than wishfull thinking -considering just in the time it took me to write this reply, there were probably 200 + nonsense posts burying what could have been a hidden "gem" that we will never know about... Sorry for the rant... Steem on...

Thanks a lot! Very helpful to me! Have you personally made a conclusion / decision which bot you will prefer? Or will you use a combination of them? Which? And how can I check the ROI? — BTW @originalworks will only work commenting an external post, I discovered. Warm regards!

Oh wait - I did get the vote from @originalworks - but on my comment - as did you. That's odd, but less odd than before, I guess.

I did get the vote from them in the moment as I posted it under my comment of your post. It only works — as I experienced — with post of others.

Hey. Glad you liked it. You can use Dr. Otto (https://rawgit.com/msg768/mysteemit/master/bidder.html) to check the ROI on most of them - but not all. I currently use all of them - but mainly to gain some traction/readers. Personal favorite is @randowhale, although I've had some weirdness from it recently. Regarding @originalworks, I did get an upvote from them yesterday on part one of this post. Not sure how that works. Maybe because the title is almost identical? Thanks for sharing (with the group)!

This post has received a 3.13 % upvote from @drotto thanks to: @initforthemoney.

Good post, dont Forget @treeplanter ;)

Thanks. I'll make sure to include that, when I update the list!
