Your Blockchain project evaluated by Fujitsu in one week for 9,900 euros

Japanese IT giant Fujitsu has launched its own consulting service dedicated to startups wanting to know if their distributed registry plans are viable in the long run.

According to the company, its "extremely fast" service will provide proof of activity and co-creation of a viable product in just 5 days, with a minimum design price of 9,900 euros.

A "ready-to-use" blockchain service

Frederik De Breuck, the director of the Fujitsu Blockchain Innovation Center in Brussels, Belgium, said:

"Blockchain and other DLTs have the potential to transform entire organizations and industries. Inspired by the high level of interest of our customers, we have created this out-of-the-box package not only to boost Blockchain's customer efforts, but also to review and enhance existing projects. Available immediately throughout the EMEIA region, we believe this assessment will have a major impact on the development of the Blockchain's potential for commercial use cases. "
However, "one of the most common mistakes made by customers" needs to be rectified, according to Chris Pilling, Fujitsu's business development manager and lead architect.

The proof of business approach differs from the proof of concept :

"They went in the wrong direction focusing on technology. They spend their time and money on whether the technology works, "he told The Reg.

"We focus on business proof, so we work with clients to ask for the business case. "
The Fujitsu Blockchain Consulting Project addresses these and other common pitfalls in the industry.
"Customers are avoiding existing processes that they do not want to touch or change by turning to the Blockchain," added Pilling.

"It's completely the opposite. They must start with a piece of blank paper. "
Fujitsu is also one of the founders of Hyperledger. Moreover, the company is currently developing codes on the Hyberledger Fabric project.

Bet on the right horse

Fujitsu's 5-day Blockchain consultation focuses on a basic introductory session based on emerging technology in the first place. Afterwards, the company will work with the client to define the problem, analyze it and look for a use case.

Customers will need to be licensed to determine what they can or can not do with the existing protocol.

Moreover, the new service based on the "human-centered design of the experience" should be considered as a profitable investment for the companies involved, even if the adoption of the Blockchain was not the same. the best way forward based on Fujitsu's research and analysis.

"There's so much value in having that certainty, [whether or not] that's not what they need right now," Pilling concludes.
