In Northern Ontario, a man was arrested twice in less than four hours for two different offenses.

While investigating an incident in Sturgeon Falls, officers from the West Nipissing Provincial Police arrested a 30-year-old man for failing to appear.

The police department, however, released the individual on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in September.

Later in the evening, an individual went to the parking lot of the West Nipissing Provincial Police Detachment and stole an officer's personal vehicle, says the OPP in a press release.

Shortly after, officers from the Warren and Sudbury detachments spotted the stolen car on Highway 17 in the City of Greater Sudbury.

The vehicle was driven by the same individual who had been apprehended in the afternoon.

The man is accused of stealing a vehicle, possession of stolen property and driving without a driver's license.

He remains in custody until his bail hearing.
