Money isn't Everything or Is it??- The Actual truth

in #money8 years ago

Hello Steemians,

Today, I would like to discuss the importance of some basic necessaties of life. One of the most important thing to sustain life now a days is MONEY!

Many people have different concepts regarding its need and importance. Many debates and discussions over this topic have been held and ended without any concrete conclusions. There has always been a great confusion and people are always found to be having two opposing theories regarding the need of money. Let me briefy explain both of them;

First Theory: Money isn't that Important

Peiple are found to be having different concepts about the need of money now a days. People usually are attracted towards the luxurious life that money offers! But they rarely consider the fact that money on one side provides you ease but on the other side it comes up with many hurdles that one could ever imagine. Let me explain it to you with some more examples that money CAN'T BUY:

  • Money can buy you a comfortable bed but NOT sleep.
  • It can buy you a clock but NOT time.
  • It can buy you a book but NOT knowledge.
  • It can buy you a position but NOT respect.
  • It can buy you medicine but NOT health.
  • It can buy you a clock but NOT time.

There are few things in life that money can't buy! For example money can't buy you happiness!

A psychological Impact

An appropriate amount of money is sufficient to lead a sustainable life.

Having less shows your contentment and thankfulness towards life while desire for more drags you towards an unthankful greedy life with less well wishers and no happiness but a never ending struggle!

I would like to quote some beautiful words here by Zig Ziggler:

Money isn't the most important thing in life, but it's reasonable close to oxygen on the "gotta have it" scale.

I would like to conclude that first theory with the amazing lines by Drew Waters:

"The biggest message, we hope, is that money is not the most important thing in life. You have to have it to survive and live but it's not the most important thing in life. It's the legacy you leave and the people that you wrap around you and the love that you have wrapped around you (that) should be the most important thing."

Second Theory: Money is Important

Some people follow the rule:

"Money is everything"

We cannot deny a very truthful fact that in order to aim for a luxurious life one should have proper resources and bags full of green papers (money)!. As they say,

Money is the not the most important thing in the world. LOVE IS! Fortunately, I LOVE money!

Celebrity culture, the rich and famous, Wall Street greediness, the twinge of jealousy we feel when we see a house bigger than ours, a car newer than our car. Newer clothes, jewelry etc. Whatever we feel about money, people with money, or the pursuit of money, can we at least agree that money IS very important!

A psychological Impact

It’s a simple psychological process as we are always quite contended and happy with basics (shelter, food, clothes) of life. As soon as we become wealthier, and enjoy the extra luxuries then it becomes your new “normal.” Now, surrounded by wealthier people, we look around, and feel unhappy and desire for more. But when we get more, you’re unhappy again.

It’s a never-ending cycle and this is what explains why so many ultra-wealthy celebrities keep doing commercials. They have so much, but they always want more.

  • Money is important because it means being able to give your children the best – the best education, the best health care, the best start in life.

  • Money is important because having money means that you will not be destitute. You will not be depending on monthly paychecks and having to put up with abuse by your boss because you badly need your job.

  • Money is important because it enables you to have more control over your life, more freedom to carve out your own path and less constraints on your choices.

Based on the above facts I couldn't agree more and conclude it with the below quote:

MONEY TALKS AND PEOPLE LISTEN!!

I Rest My Case

I would like to have your opinions.

  • What do you think about the need of money and it's importance?
  • Which of the above theories would you vote for?

A right subject on the right website! ;)
I think money definitely DON'T make you happy. I vote for the first theory. Always did and always will. I think it's a bit more clear to people from the east, who are not so much influenced by Western culture. Re-quoting Osho I'd say we will have a perfect society, once the practicality of the west will be balanced with spirituality of the east.
:)

Thank you so much! I appreciate you consent in this regard :)

Hahaha , money is very important.

  • You cannot buy time, but you can definitely buy better food, medicine, enviroment, that will extend your lifetime.
  • You cannot buy love, but you can definitely buy plastic surgery, expensive perfumes, expensive clothes, beauty items, and confidence, that will make you succesfull with any girl/guy
  • You cannot buy friends... Oh wait, you actually can.

Everything is for sale, so having a lot of money is always good!

Lol , I agree! As of today, people only bothers about the one who have heavy pockets not hearts!

I heard a guy say once that money isn't the most important thing in life nor do you really need much of it to be happy but as humans unfortunately it can really upgrade your lifestyle. I have to agree and upvoted good post. Also this it home with me "You will not be depending on monthly paychecks and having to put up with abuse by your boss because you badly need your job."

Thank you. I really appreciate and agree to your words. :)

Money by itself doesn't make you happy but it increases the odds!
Poor people with no money say that kind of things for obvious reasons.
Rich people say it too for different reasons.
Not enough money (for whatever) is a bad thing. So... having money should be a good thing.
I'm not obsessed with money and I know happiness flourishes in families of few resources. When I start thinking too much that money is not that important it's because I'm not getting the amount I need or want for something.
Before this kind of thinking settles in my brain I usually remember that I know people that are still alive because they had the money to pay for special medical care. I also known others that hadn't... and are not among us anymore. How's that for happiness in a family?

You have triggered the right and truthful approach my friend. Money, no doubt is essential and necessary to sustain life. I completely agree to your words. Thanks!
