People are incompetent and also added to that they're nonchalant. You spoke about so many nice people yet you can't seem to re-open your account, it sometimes makes one want to take a break, have a glass of juice and brood over it.
Indeed, they I guess have found a way to be happy in their incompetence instead of stressing over it. I guess I'd do the same if I worked in a company culture of incompetence but needed the job. Thankfully now that I got my part in all this done (I think) today I feel really light and free!
I hope they are too. A couple are still in flux, but they're in other people's hands, so I just have to wait and see what they do. I feel better just having done my part though. Thanks for the cheer.
I think that's why I have so much on my "to do" list that I keep putting off @indigoocean. Much of it is the sort of stuff you are referring to and it always seems to be an unnecessarily frustrating experience.
Well done you though, for getting all that ticked off in one day. 😁
That was my plan yesterday too but I couldn't find one of my bank cards, then forgot a password for another account and got locked out of a third. As you can imagine I wasn't keen to go for it again today but it has to be done!
In my opinion, I think people are incompetent because most times they dont love the job they are doing or they weren't trained for the job.
For instance... Over here in school, My mathematics lecturer always enters the class and copies mathematics questions and solutions on the board before talking a little about the topic and we call it a day.
Can you imagine? why can't he explain the solution as he is solving it on the board?
I would have assumed that he just doesn't know mathematics but then again, he always copies the solution without looking at his book.
He finally told us one day that he is a graduate of Engineering and never liked teaching for one day. He had to apply, because of how bad and rare it is to find a job in a company.
Because of that, our future is now being affected, most of us are dumb when it comes to mathematics. Except those with Higher IQ and quicker to understand.
I don't really know how, but I am sure that one day, our lack of good mathematics knowledge will be a barrier for us and somehow we will transfer the curse to the next generation...
You know what? thanks for the awesome post, you just gave me a huge hint. I will calm down to develop this comment and make a post out of it.
Yes, a lot of the time it is that people are only half way trying. I look forward to seeing your post. It is truly most significant when this happens in education.
Ugh sorry for the bad service and incompetency. But this made me chuckle:
Since the day started with such stressful drudgery, I decided to dedicate the entire day to getting things done that I don't want to do.
Haha must be something in the air (Virgo season? I am a virgo after all) as I waded through completing many things I was putting off (bank related stuff too! A theme!) — feel much lighter now, maybe I should make a habit of it.
Yeah, I do feel much lighter today. I slept late, then took the dog for a walk that felt like walking in heaven. It's funny how much energy goes toward not doing things we need to do. Energy we don't even see bleeding away, but that we get back once we go ahead and do it!
That does sound frustrating. Hopefully they took that as an opportunity to add the issue to their next training session so other customers don't have to go through the same ordeal as you. Sorry that you had to be the guinea pig lol
For the HSA, I think they think this is business as usual! For the health insurance, they did finally get that sorted yesterday. For the toll tracker, yeah, I really think she is moving it up the chain to get some systems changed and some retraining done. She was actually pretty annoyed at what she found and apologized profusely, telling me all the things that should have happened differently. So I guess I did serve some higher purpose by being willing to spend so much time regaining $20 I felt I was owed... and was. LOL
Incompetent people are everywhere we go in life. It only takes humility to accept that one does not know a thing and wants to study more.
I came to realize that Ignorance and pride always go together in most cases.
Like the person that you sought help from, in a way i can say she was ignorant or better put it "lacked knowledge" of the company she is working with and pride will probably not make her learn from her colleagues or even to study personally.

Happy Friday.

Enjoy it though, and cook up one more post and pour a wine while looking at the night stars. 😀😀😀😀
Oh so this is why you didn't post yesterday, I noticed that. Sorry about the situation.
I hope things are normal now?
I hope they are too. A couple are still in flux, but they're in other people's hands, so I just have to wait and see what they do. I feel better just having done my part though. Thanks for the cheer.
OK. You are welcome.

I figured one bad day instead of dragging it out any longer LOL.
