3D-modeling journey - coloring my R2D2 model
Hi, guys!
Here I would like to tell a few about my first experience with coloring 3D models.
From the first steps I already understood that probably it will be a fail. And it really is a fail, but anyway I was happy to learn on my own mistakes. So - what I did:
The model has eight parts, two for body and the other ones for legs. Everything was printed separately. I used black plastic, and this was my first fail. I definitely had to use white. My white paint had huge problems with covering black color, and as a result I had to put a lot of layers, so tiny details lost under it.
I wish you all the best and will be happy if you'll support me with vote:)
Love, Inber

I am really looking hard at a 3D printer....

Steem on :)
what a creativity!!
You started the long and long surface trimming work.
The finished R2D2 will be cool.
what great art concept right there. Thank you for sharing this great idea.
Cheers :)
Nice attempt
Oops :S Maybe this one can be an old and battered R2 unit so it doesn't matter if the black shows through?
White or light grey is probably best for painting on if the Warhammer models are anything to go by :)
