The wise even learn from foolishness
To put things in perspective, the wise I'm referring to are the people that choose to use their intellect, purposefully. Those that deliberately refuse to let it be idle. The people that are strongly disposed toward critical thinking.
A critical thinker thinks in an effort to come to conclusions on what to do and what to believe. If they are presented with an established belief, they use their minds to study that belief in light of the evidence that supports it.
Without critical thinkers, we would barely make any progress in life, because everyone will be thinking the same, the end result being that no one will actually be thinking. Foolish questions, ideas and beliefs bring lessons to the wise. It is these types of questions that often reveal the ineffectiveness of any belief or way of doing things.
