Assalamu alaikum, everyone. I am @imranhassan from #Bangladesh

How are you all? I hope everyone is well and healthy by the grace of God. Today I will share with you the 12 Volt DC Fan Voltage Regulator Tutorial.

Currently, there are many types of charger fans in the market from many companies, the design of the controlling circuit of which is different from one to another, so when these fans are damaged or the SMD parts are damaged, when our circuits are not available in the market, we have to find an alternative way to run this fan. Then, if we want to run a fan and reduce or increase its power, we have to resort to this type of voltage regulator because a fan can be controlled with this voltage regulator, so let's see step by step how to use a voltage regulator.

Step -01

image.png

The voltage regulator that you can see in my hand now is a 6 Volt 2 Ampere DC Charger Fan Regulator, or any motor can be regulated. Our Bangladeshi market price is only 80 taka, and it is very affordable. If you buy it from a circuit market, it costs 300 to 400 taka to repair the charger fan. If I talk to the owner of the fan and modify the regulator, then a fan is running within just 100 taka.

Step -02

image.png

Look carefully here; I have opened a heat sink, and you can see two voltage regulators on both sides below the heat sink. The voltage is controlled by these two regulators, and a 555 timer IC has been used on its right side, which controls the signal.

Step -03

image.png

Then you can see three capacitors here; these combine the DC 220 µF 35-volt capacitor output. Then you can see a blue-coloured screw connector on the top, which is used for input and output connection.

Step -04

image.png

Then I turned the regulator over, and you can see there are four arrow marks here; one is on the negative side, and one is on the positive side, which is used for the power supply line. And look at the bottom; there is a red positive sign that I have placed. It is to give the positive of the motor, and the negative of the motor is to give the negative of the motor. This is the input and output connection.

Step -05

image.png

Then you can see that I have taken a 12-volt DC power supply here, and I have taken the voltage regulator, and I have taken a digital multimeter to check its output, so let's check the output.

Step -06

image.png

To check the output, I have to make input and output connections, so I have shown here that I have made output connections and input connections with four jumper wires. Now I will give input from the battery and check the output line with a digital multimeter.

Step -07

image.png

You can see that first I have given input voltage from the battery to the circuit in the power section, and you can see a red light indicating that this red light means that this circuit is on.

Step -08

image.png

Then I have taken a small 12-volt motor to test its output, and I have connected it to the motor from the output of the circuit, so now I will run it and see if it works properly in decreasing and increasing.

Step -09

image.png

So you can see that after giving the input and output voltage, after connecting it to the motor, the motor is spinning at a very high speed, and my voltage regulator is on, and to understand everything well, you need to watch the video. The video link is given below. You can watch the video to understand better how this voltage regulator works.

Using this module, I modify many broken switches that cannot control fans and many broken charger fans whose circuits are not available in the market. I replace it in charger fans, solar fans, and IPS fans and make all fans functional. And when I modify and give the fans to their owners by replacing this voltage regulator module, they are very happy to see it because they can control the speed of the motor as much as they need, so they are very happy and tell me that it is much better than before.

Estás realizando un buen trabajo utilizando el ingenio y el conocimiento. Este tipo de trabajos atrae a más clientes. Así que te deseo éxito en tu taller de electrónica.
