That's rooster stirring. Mmmm, lots of food in my belly making me tired. Making me sleeeeeepppy. Sleeepy. Sleepy. Let's go to bed after this freewrite. I confess, I KNOW I need to do more writing on my short story, but I'm just soo ready to get enough sleep. Let's do it. Then tomorrow, when I don't have anywhere to have to go, I will be able to write the story. I'll finish tomorrow. That might not be reasonable, but I'll get dang close. Very close. I think I know everything that happens. I just need to add the details that make it compelling, and write write write. That's the most important part of writing, is the writing part.

And the most important part of the rooster is his chickenness. Otherwise he'd just be a rando bird. And that's no one's preference. If you're looking for a rooster, a hummingbird won't do. A chicken hen might do in a pinch, but not a finch, not even if it's a boy finch. Male finches are called Chickadees, did you know that? It's not true.
