My civil rights are being trampled, shall I be civil in response? Nay, I say.
Stuzzy was feeling left behind. All her friends had been going to school for months, she realized. She didn’t know that there were camps in the summer for kids to go to that were essentially like school. Her mom had told her they were moving to a new school district so she could get a better education, but the classes were all the same, they were just with richer kids. So Stuzzy started studying up on what made this a better school than the other. Turns out, all the kids went to summer camps that were MORE school, and all the standardized tests were hackable if you had the right tutor… not cheating, just… they all worked the same way, so you just had to study that particular material. Anyways, it had nothing to do with teachers and instruction… or, well, that there were fewer kids in the classrooms probably helped, and that there was a full-time librarian AND art teacher AND music teacher AND afterschool drama… but the biggest thing was that these kids got to go home and just do their homework and play. They didn’t have to make dinner for themselves or do many chores, and they certainly never had to help their parents make spreadsheets and worry about the finances. If they made financial spreadsheets, it was for their own investments. Lah dee dah.
How about that?
I dunno if being wealthy makes things any easier when it comes to education. I got a great free education with plenty of canes across the backside and bullying from the other kids. Would it have been any different if we had money?
It’s the Wednesday prompt delivery team here with the challenge for today:

Statistically wealth improves education and learning and poverty makes it harder, but the ways in which it does that aren't always obvious, and of course there are outliers
