Speaking of chapters, I stopped by a professional recording studio today and took 3 minutes on the microphone to record my WINDOW freewrite from last week. Here it is:

Chapter one:

Constance spent several days reading all the chapters of her book. Once she got to the final chapter, she began again.

Chapter two:

"Oh no!" screamed Candace, "last time I read this book, there was a chapter one. If this happens again when I get to the end, soon I will be out of chapters!"

And then the book ended.

OH NO. Candace is trapped in the book. Can she escape? Does she even want to? Find out next time!

Meanwhile, have you been worrying? You shouldn't! I'm ready to tell everyone about that one time I had a fish steak.

Ooop. You don't want to hear about it? You want to hear about a chapter in abook I read? Well, it was the chapter about the end of the book. Things kind of revealed themselves. the character who had just wrought tremendous magic now found himself blind, but he had saved the day, and the woman he loved was there with him.

Oh, speaking of, I am reading this book of short stories about the moon... it's sci-fi written in the 60s. Anyways, they're mostly good, but they aren't the least bit wary of using the presence of women as a quest item for men, essentially. And they are very male-centric. It's a bit weird to see that they thought, no matter how futuristic we get, the male-dominated stem fields will always still be a normal thing.

Ugh. But also, it's very of the time. I'm sure they thought they were progressive because there is A female astronomer.
