A Daily Dose: Unbecoming everything that is not you!

I feel sad every time I see you staring at a sunset. Maybe because I know what you’ve been going through. I know your struggles and how you handle them with a brave heart.

You always know what to do next. You said that as long as the fire inside a person is burning bright, nothing can steal that light away. It was your way of reassuring to everyone that you’ll be okay, that everything will be fine.

I really felt the sadness in those words but you’re not showing any signs of it at all. Is it because you got used to it or you just don’t want to show it? I know how hard it is.

From what I’ve heard about you, you’ve been working out things to prove something to somebody. You are trying to do it since you were young, a promise that has been your purpose and reason to stay strong.

You weren’t like anybody. To you, every second counts. I even think sometimes that you are abusing yourself. You’re forgetting how to go easy on yourself and only remember what you desire.

Why do you have to be so serious? What are your reasons why you badly wanted to prove something? I’m not one to talk because I know nothing about your past. I just don’t get it.

I think what I wanted to say is that you don’t have to prove anything because it’s not the reason why you exist. You should learn to know who you really are before telling them who you are. Take it easy, you’re doing your best.

"Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about unbecoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you are in the first place." - Paul Coelho

Why has it been a tradition to prove something as we grow up? How do you know that you are forgetting who you are?
