Wireless charging! Is it good? | 5% for SL-Charity
Have you heard about wireless charging? I am petty sure you do. What it does it that charges electronic devices without using a wire. This is all thanks to the technology called electromagnetic induction. The magnetic field between 2 coils is generating power to the device we want to charge. The distance between the two devices has to be very close to this to be effective. So, this is a disadvantage of this technology. However, people try to find out more useful technologies like this continuously. The heat generation is more compared to traditional charging when we use wireless charging. Everything in the first stages has its own limitations. But we all know when people are interested in something, the research and development part makes things more effective. So we can keep our hopes up.
Currently, I own 2 wireless chargers. One is for charging my iPhone. Another one is for charging my Apple watch. Currently, iPhones do not even ship with a power brick. Apple also introduced the MagSafe wireless charging technology with iPhone 12. I can safely say that the industry is making progress through wireless technology. When huge companies like Apple are doing things like this, the industry follows them. That’s the real beauty. The wireless charger that I own is Qi-standard wireless charger. The charging process is a bit slow compared to traditional wired charging, but with the easiness of it, I can live with it. I am using this device for over a year now and I feel great about it. If your phone also supports wireless charging, you should try it.
Apple Watch is a very useful tool to me. Charging it should not be difficult otherwise the user experience will be damaged. So, they have designed this magnetic apple watch charger since the original Apple watch. I have used Apple watch series 3,5 and currently using a series 6. All these models were charging using this wireless charger. It’s really easy to use and charges fast since the Watch battery is a bit small.
The point is now the whole industry is moving towards a wireless future. To clarify that Mi recently announced their new mi airpower technology which charges their smartphones through the air, which is mindblowing.
