Never trust too much

Today’s article is an idea that came into my mind. It can be relative from person to person but I hope I will be correct. In any relationship, trust issues can be very crucial. It can be negatively impacted.

Everyone is aware of the situation in my country. In 2019, we all trusted our current president. He was very straight about his decisions and the youth felt really confident about him that he will drive my country to success. That’s why he won the election with a very high margin.

I think after we were hit hard by the covid19 pandemic, our country took very good measures to protect its people. But it also causes a huge downtrend in our country’s economy. We lost all the income from tourists. Otherwise, this government will function as the previous governments without any trouble.

Sri Lanka is not sustainable on its debts. Simply the things we borrow are more than we produce. That’s where this problem comes in. Since this all happened very soon, our politicians couldn’t handle it and now you can see the results.

Let’s see about this trust issue. I can give you a simple explanation. If we love someone very badly, we tend to believe everything they say without any conditions. If they have cheated on us, the love will be its opposite. That’s what is happening now. Mostly the youth loved our current president and they did not expect the actions he has done so far. They are really disappointed including me. I think that’s why now we hate him. We trusted too much and now we are seeing the results of overtrusting.

Because he failed what is promised, people are asking him to step down. But seems like he is not going to do that including the prime minister. Honestly, I loved our prime minister as a child. Now I do not like him because of what he has done to our country. Winning a war is so different from failing a country. These old people have to go and young leaders have to rise. Otherwise, my country will suffer for a long time.
