Learning ZBrush 3D Modeling

This was my first attempt at modeling a mech suit/character in Zbrush. It started as a plain sphere, then I stretched and pulled and shaped it section by section. The beauty of Zbrush is something called Dynamesh, which allows you to severely distort the underlying geometry and then re-topologize it automagically so you can continue sculpting without losing resolution.

I spent maybe four hours creating this, mostly because I was still learning how to use the program and figuring out which brushes created what effects.

Here's another view:

I ran out of time before I could get to the hard parts (hands and boots/feet), but am pretty happy with what I was able to get done in a few hours.

More sculpts coming soon - next up: some really fun creatures!
