to be in fashion - what does it means?

I never try in my life to run after fashion. To be in fashion means for me to be in harmony with myself, to feel good and comfortable. I never try to look like someone else. For me on 1st place here is cleanness, feeling of comfort and originality. I never understand such fashion, when 7 of 10 girls in the street have the same skirts or similar shoes. I agree that every season new models of shoes or dress style etc. come. But at the same time, if to look back to the past, we should notice that many things come back after some time. In my 40 years I can say it for sure. I have some clothes which I have worn 20 years ago, and its are in fashion now I prefer classical style and clothes which as I say are not only one season clothes. When I was much younger, I liked to buy a lot of clothes and half of its were unnecessary. With ages I learned to buy only clothes which I really need and in which I feel comfortable. And one more thing which I understood with ages that it is better to have one clothes, but of a good quality, than a lot of rubbish....I don't have in mind that good quality clothes have to be very expensive. Sometimes, we can find some not so expensive, but very stylish and good quality clothes.
As we are all different, we all have different appearance, figure and character. So, not everything fit to everybody. I mean, that the same clothes can look different on different people. And here it is very important to find style and clothes which fit to us. There are some kind of people, who always running after fashion, no matter fit it to them or not. They imagine, that they are in fashion and not respect other people, who have different style and different view of fashion. Such people just are ridiculous and even some of them are like a clown. I always respect people who are not afraid to be original and have their own style. Fashion is inside us, we only need to discover it. Be yourself, Be in Harmony, Be in Comfort. When our internal world is nice, our appearance is nice too.

For the end I would like to share with you one of my favorite singer's thoughts about style. He is Ilja Lagutenko, vocalist rock group "Mumij Trol" - he is very stylish, has his own style and was chosen " Man of the year 2005" by Glamour magazine. Ilja Lagutenko came into Russian rock music not only with original music and songs, but also changed view of some Russian youth to clothes and hairstyle.
I'm sharing with you, fragment of interview of Ilja Lagutenko - journalist asked him to tell his secret of style, Ilja answered, that the most important to improve internal culture, and it will necessarily reflect on external appearance. That one phrase consist all what I wanted to tell you about what does fashion means for me.
