SEA TURTLES OF NOVA SCOTIA

Here in Nova Scotia we have 7 species of Turtle (3 sea turtles, 4 freshwater turtles)
The Sea Turtles we have include:
The Leatherback Sea Turtle which is the largest turtle in the world (growing to be 9 feet long, 1200 pounds) it can be found in Neils Harbour,in northern Cape Breton Island and is usually Black in colour.

The Atlantic Ridley Sea Turtle which can be distinguished by its Heart Shaped carapace (top shell) and can be found along the southern shores of Nova Scotia

The Loggerhead Sea Turtle which grows to be approx. 4 feet long weighing 300 lbs. It can be noticed for it's orange colour and can be found off the coast of Halifax. some have even been known to be found in Halifax Harbour
