The use of long exposure in photography is a novel technique that seeks to highlight the luminous elements and, depending on its use, it is capable of giving interesting results, such as the poetic use of light as paint.

The long exposure photography

Long exposure photography, as the name implies, is the type of photography where the shutter speed is prolonged over a long duration (slow shutter time), thanks to this technique you can do something that perhaps in times past was unimaginable, capture the time.

Capture time? yes! time! the long exposure photograph captures the trajectory of something, it is able to transform the lights into bright stripes because it is capturing the trajectory that it leaves when moving, the dark elements disappear completely and the protagonist takes all that that shines, even those stars that we see in the distance with a very dim light, we can see them brighter if we propose to take a long exposure photograph.

Thanks to this technique, the nightlife photographs are better precisely because the more light is captured, the image is clearer, even landscape photographs tend to have greater force when they are made with a long exposure, the water softens and acquires an effect of silk.

This type of photography can be done almost with any photographic equipment that has the manual mode, mainly the shutter time should be modified to slow / long and ISO.

Painting with light is a style derived from long exposure photography where a mobile light source is used to draw in front of the camera, in long exposure it will capture the path of light and the shape that is being drawn.

These photographs are a small compilation of my practices with the long exposure, specifically drawing with light, my camera has a maximum shutter exposure of 8 seconds so I do not have much time to play with the light but I still managed to capture small spots.
