History of Floating Diesel Power Ship
Hi Steem For Pakistan friends
Today I visited one of the most historical places in Banda Aceh City, this is a place that always reminds me of a natural disaster that hit Aceh in the past, namely the Tsunami.
This is a photo of the PLTD APUNG ship located in the Punge Blang Cut village, Jalan Jaya Baru, Banda Aceh City. This PLTD APUNG ship is a land-based power plant ship weighing 2,600 tons, has a length of 63 meters and has an area of 1,900 square meters.
Initially this ship was placed off the coast of Ulee Lheu because it was used to distribute electricity to residential areas and small towns in Ulee Lheu.
However, when the Tsunami occurred on December 26, 2004 with sea waves reaching 9 meters, this ship was dragged up to 5 kilometers to the heart of Banda Aceh City.
This ship was carried by the powerful tsunami waves to the middle of the Punge Blang Cut village, seeing this giant ship dragged so far into the middle of the city, I really can't imagine the terrible natural disaster at that time, and the tsunami disaster claimed 170,000 lives.
Seeing this giant ship makes me feel very sad because I remember such a terrible incident, now this PLTD APUNG ship has been made into a Museum that can be visited by everyone.
It is said that this ship landed on a resident's house which is still under this PLTD APUNG ship, every day there are many visitors from within and outside the country who come here to see evidence of the awesomeness of the tsunami waves in 2004.
Hopefully, Allah will keep us all away from danger and disasters such as tsunamis and other natural disasters never happen again in any part of the world. I can also feel how sad the people who lost their family members when the tsunami occurred, because I myself also have a brother who died when the tsunami occurred at that time and his body has never been found until today.
Hopefully, every one of our brothers and sisters who died during the tsunami disaster will be placed in the best place by Allah's side.
