Where does your sense of enjoyment come from?

What do you enjoy doing? When are you the most alive? Fulfilled.

The media has us believe relaxation and getting entertained is the true enjoyment.

Just sit back and enjoy. It happens automatically. You don’t do anything. Actively.

There’s so much wrong with this approach. No question. We don’t have to discuss this here.

But I want to shed some light on another form of enjoyment.

Enjoyment that comes from creating things.

Most of us have probably built something from Ikea in our lifetime.

It’s a good feeling.

I built that! Wow.

Ikea gives people a sense of accomplishment. They have to create stuff themselves. That’s in part what makes them so successful.

The art of creating is beautiful.

You start with a thought in your mind. An idea. You start to imagine it. Then you set out to do it and bring it to life.

You created something out of nothing. With the power of your brain.

Isn’t that much more enjoyable than passively getting flooded with impressions?

Maximum enjoyment comes from creation.

The advice to “produce instead of consume” doesn’t come from afar.

It’s a highly practical concept to happiness.

Creating something enables us to experience something new. A new feeling. A new memory. It makes life worth living and slows down the mindless process of following our everyday habits.

Pick a project of yours. Anything. I just started building a new e-com store today. It felt rejuvenating. It was enjoyable.

Whatever your dream project is, make it your duty to accomplish it.

Build that table you always wanted. A painting. Create something with the power of your mind.

That’s where we will find real enjoyment.

The type of enjoyment intended for us humans.

Don’t consume. Produce.
