Was it a hype from advertisements? or in fact essential for personal fitness?

The answer is ...................................

"No!"

Six-pack-abs DOES NOT represent healthy or fitness. Thanks for reading this far. Give me less than 2 minutes, I will explain why is it so.

Why?
I am sure you aware that, in order to attain six-pack (abs), one has to reduce and maintain his or her body fat to LOWER than 10% body fat. A normal and healthy person, according to medical doctor, should maintain at least 10 ~ 15% body fat (for men) or 16 ~ 20% body fat (for women).

Besides the above-mentioned "harmful" requirement maintaining good looking six pack abs, there are few literally "useless facts" about keeping up with six-pack-abs. There are:-

  • Serve no purpose as far as health is concerned.
  • It takes up unnecessary time from me to maintain it.

Then,
what is the best practice?

  1. Stay in shape. 150 minutes of moderate aerobic workout per week or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic workout is good enough for people like you and me.
  2. Consistency is the magical key words. Every one of us knew very well that exercise is essential to keep our ever-ageing body up with necessary metabolism. Still, most of us failed non other than lack of discipline and consistency.
  3. Don't diet. Keep healthy and balanced-eating-habit.
  4. Enjoy your workout. Not forcing yourself to workout just to keep fit.
  5. Prioritize our personal value. Most of us, including myself tends to feel sorry only-after something has GONE forever.
  6. Last but not least. Take a good rest! Beside allowing our brain to solidify and consolidate, Our body requires relatively longer hours of sleep in order to reinstate and reinvigorate, repair tissue, grow muscle, and synthesize hormones.

How bad is bad?

Lower fat levels in the body can have adverse effects on your body including:

  1. Hormone imbalance
  2. Reduced bladder control
  3. Weaken the immune system
  4. Irregular bowel function
  5. Muscle aches and pains
  6. Inadequate cushioning around joints and organs
  7. Cause tiredness and mood swings

Simple but not easy task...

Getting fit , and staying fit is a long-term commitment. It is utmost important to pay attention to our own habits and lifestyle, and to make sure we don't slide back into old habits.

Stay healthy & fit!

Cheers!

Thanks very much, I did not know that we needed so much body fat. I feel so great knowing walking and some light jogging is enough to keep the body healthy.

Thank you so much for reading the post, @lyndsaybowes!
I wasn't aware of the side effect losing too much body fat too...
You'r always welcome! (^_^)
Take good care!
Sincerely,
@iipoh06
