How Life Is A Journey?

Have you ever been to a bookstore and heard someone say that life is a journey? It made no sense to me at the time, but now that I'm older, it has become very true. It used to be said by a bunch of hippies on their way to commune with nature. Now it is the voice of wisdom coming from the scientific community telling us that our life is a journey. There really is nothing like it in the world, and it applies to all of us.


The famous French writer and painter Les Demoiselles d'Avignon summed it up perfectly when he said, "I've had long years to learn, but life is a journey." We all have things to learn about. Some are small and difficult but that doesn't mean we can't make them a part of our life. Some are large and require massive effort to accomplish, but that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy the fruits of our labor along the way.

Just think back to any moment that you can think back to when you were absolutely determined to get something done, and you did it. Now, you might not remember if you got it right, but most likely you can remember a version of yourself that was absolutely determined to make that happen. How in the world did you do it? What did you have to work for? It might be life, but it's certainly a journey.

Another great quote is by Bill Graham, "You cannot achieve anything in life, unless you believe that it will be achieved." This is also true of life. You must believe before you can achieve anything, otherwise, you might as well wake up tomorrow and go back to sleep. If you want a vacation, start planning early. The same holds true of life: You must prepare for it, and you must believe that you can have what you want.

So how do we prepare for life? The first step is to define what life is for you. What do you want out of life? What are your dreams, what are your goals, what do you want to be by the age of forty? When you know who you are, then you can create goals that will lead you down the path to happiness.

We often confuse dreams with reality, but in truth, they are two separate things. Real life is what happens to us once we get into it. Dreams are only that: they are only thoughts that we have created in our minds, and they may not become a reality. Your life is the one you have created for yourself, so if you don't like what you see, take a different path.

Once you know who you are, then you can create a path and follow it. If you want to make money, you can choose to work in an office, become an artist, teach, or start your own business. There are many ways to make money, and one way to get out of debt is to use your imagination and creativity, and think of all the ways you can do one of those things to earn an income that will enable you to support yourself and your family. When you create a path for your life, it becomes a journey because you are always looking towards your next destination and you won't get lost in the process.


Have you ever wondered what would happen if you won the lottery? People in the United States spend billions of dollars each year just to keep getting the lottery. If they got it right, then their lives will be much different from those people who get it wrong. However, if you learn about your strengths, weaknesses, and talents, then by applying those talents and strengths to your life you can easily find a great path and direction in life: you can become whatever you want!
