Do Not Have To Let Your Mistakes Define You

We do not have to let our mistakes define us. No one can live a perfect life. We will make mistakes and we will also get better as we learn from those mistakes. Let them not define you, let them be your friend instead.

Mistakes are a part of life. We all make them and then some. It is part of growing up and hopefully we will never stop making them. When we find out that someone has made a mistake, the first thing we want to do is sit back and take a deep breath. We then decide whether we want to let the person know that they have made a mistake or if we would like to run our mouths about it and tell everyone we know.


Sometimes we are so caught up in telling people how great they are that we forget to listen to ourselves. Sometimes we are so proud of ourselves that we allow others to make mistakes. We do not have to. The important thing is not how we react but what we do about it. The more we do to learn from our mistakes, the more we will grow.

If we have been hurt in the past by another person, we must be careful how we handle it now. We can decide not to go for it any more. We can decide to talk about the mistake and see how other people respond to it.

Some people will just brush it off and say it's not important. "You're going to have to figure out your priorities" they will say. "Why should I even bother? My situation doesn't change." Yes, your situation may not change. But so what?

If we are not allowing someone else to make a mistake, then we are not allowing ourselves to make a mistake. When we are in control of everything, we become perfect and when we are vulnerable, we become fake. Insecurity eats away at our spirits and makes us feel unworthy. We need to be secure in our self.

If we are going to say something like "You've made a mistake and you're correct", we have to be sincere. People love to believe in the sincerity of others. If we don't, then we are not showing love. When we are sincere and real, people love to surround us and be with us because we are true to ourselves.

We don't have to let our mistakes be the defining part of who we are. We can instead choose to let them go and move on. We can go forward instead of being stuck in the past.

People also love to have their own personal space. When we are surrounded by people, we feel uncomfortable and we want to be alone. If we are in our own private space, we are free to think and be without the judgment and criticism of the rest of the world. We don't have to let our mistakes define us.

It is up to each individual to decide how much weight they want to carry around. Some people like to carry as little weight as possible. Others like to put themselves under more stress. We can choose to let the weight of our mistakes weigh us down or we can choose to carry it and work through it. It's our choice.

Letting yourself carry your mistakes is empowering. It gives you the ability to get back on your feet and make amends. It allows you to find solutions to your problems instead of just dwelling on what you have done wrong. You have the power to correct your mistakes and move on. It can be a very empowering experience.

There are many ways to move forward and to correct your mistakes. We can let them define us or we can take a preemptive strike and correct the mistakes that lie ahead.
